History

Casa Santa Rosa was founded in 1946, shortly after the Second World War, to respond to the urgent need for care and support for people with disabilities and in situations of poverty.

It was a time when the other two Guanellian centers in Rome (Casa Santa Maria della Provvidenza and Casa San Pio X) were no longer sufficient.

Thanks to the support of fellow sisters from the United States, a property on Via Appia Antica was purchased, where in the following years the current residential complex would be built. The House was named “Santa Rosa” in memory of Sister Rosa Bertolini, a pioneer of the Guanellian mission in the USA.

Since then, Casa Santa Rosa has become a stable point of reference, growing into a center for care, rehabilitation, and human and spiritual support.
